Policies
Local and Trust Policies: What’s the Difference?
Local Policies
Local policies are created and maintained by St. Thomas a Becket Catholic Primary School.
They cover aspects of school life where individual schools are encouraged to tailor their approach such as uniform expectations, behaviour, homework etc.
Local policies are published on our website (see further down).
Trust Policies
Trust policies are set by Bosco Catholic Education Trust.
These apply across all schools within the Trust and cover statutory requirements, safeguarding, data protection, complaints, HR and finance. While we follow these policies fully, we may provide school-specific guidance or additions where helpful.
Trust policies are published on the Trust’s website.
Local Policies
These policies reflect our day-to-day practice and expectations. They are developed by the school’s leadership team and governing body to serve our local context, and are regularly reviewed to ensure they continue to meet the needs of our students and families. In some cases, our local policies supplement Trust-wide policies.
